Glory and veil(click HERE for study notes) (Exodus 34:29-35)

Glory and veil
Moses was unaware of the radiance on his face. Think and talk about
being aware of holiness and this not being aware. Which one is more
attractive? Try to put yourself in the place of Moses and the moment
when he learns that his face is glorious. How would you feel about that?
The brightness of his face frightens the others. Why? Think about the
connection with Adam hiding from God, after Adam had sinned.
Why does Moses hide his face from the Israelites? Did he cover the
glory? No! Read carefully again the sequence of events! It is very
difficult to get this right: When exactly does Moses veil his face and
when exactly does he keep his face unveiled?
Why does Moses veil his face after he has spoken to the people?
Look up 2 Cor 3:13 for an answer.
Read also Romans 3:23 about the lost glory.
Then think about how God treated Adam and Eve with the nakedness of
their lost glory. How did God cover them?
How does God cover our lost glory now?
Do we feel the shame of our sin? Do we feel the need of cover?
What makes Jesus the perfect cover for us?
How could we also get the glory, and not only be covered? How did Moses
get the glory? How could we follow his example? Paul says that we have
even better opportunity for receiving the glory than Moses (2 Cor
3:7-18). What is the difference with the glory we get from Jesus and
glory which Moses received? What practical steps could you take in order
to keep on receiving the glory in your life?

Exodus 34:29-35
29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. 30 Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. 31 But Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses talked with them. 32 Afterward all the people of Israel came near, and he commanded them all that the Lord had spoken with him in Mount Sinai. 33 And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.
34 Whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would remove the veil, until he came out. And when he came out and told the people of Israel what he was commanded, 35 the people of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face was shining. And Moses would put the veil over his face again, until he went in to speak with him. (ESV)
